The SBI Pensioners' Association Kerala, popularly known as SBIPAK was born on 3rd March 2001.Till then the SBI pensioners belonging to Kerala, Mahe and Laccadives were members of the Chennai Circle Pensioners' Association. With the formation of SBI Kerala Circle in the year 2000 as the 14th Circle of State Bank of India, serving organisations of Officers as well as Workmen were also reconstituted with their area of operation confined to Kerala, Mahe and Laccadives. Accordingly, it was the felt need of our organisation also to have a rebirth in its new look and attire, viz. SBIPAK. Accordingly, a meeting of the members from Trivandrum, Ernakulam and Calicut was convened and an Ad-hoc Committee was constituted to initiate necessary steps for the formation of an independent Association of SBI Pensioners in Kerala. The Ad-hoc Committee which met at Ernakulam on 03-03-2001 after detailed deliberations finalized all the necessary formalities for formation of a Registered Association. It was decided that the Registered Office of the Association shall be at Ernakulam and a suitable draft Bye-laws was adopted in the meeting. A committee of eight members was constituted and Shri A.K. Menon was nominated as the first General Secretary and was authorized to arrange for registration and completion of other formalities. Thus State Bank of India Pensioners' Association Kerala (SBIPAK) which is registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act 12 of 1955 came into existence on 25-04-2001 with Reg. No.ER/150/2001.
